Melissa K. Nagata

 

Melissa Nagata joined the firm in May of 2007. She focuses her practice on various professional liability matters, including legal and medical malpractice, as well as general liability matters.  Melissa has extensive experience litigating cases to trial in Pennsylvania state court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the District of New Jersey.

Melissa is a graduate of LaSalle University and a graduate of Villanova University School of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude.  While in law school, Ms. Nagata served as the Managing Editor of Outside Articles for the Villanova Environmental Law Journal.

Prior to joining the firm, Melissa served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Robert D. Kaplan, District Chief Administrative Law Judge for the United States Department of Labor, New Jersey District Office.

Melissa is admitted to practice in United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the New Jersey Superior Court, and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Currently, Melissa is an Associate Editor of the Montgomery County Law Reporter.  She also provides pro bono services to the community through the Montgomery Child Advocacy Program.

In 2012, Melissa was selected as a “Rising Star” attorney.  “Rising Stars” are chosen by their peers and through the independent research of Law and Politics as being among the top-up-and-coming lawyers in Pennsylvania.  Only 2.5 percent of Pennsylvania attorneys receive this honor each year.

Melissa grew up in Fort Myers, Florida.  She currently resides in Ardmore with her husband, Mark, and their two sons Henry and Miles.
