Cynthia L. Brennan

Ms. Brennan joined the firm in 2007. She is a 1987 graduate of Moravian
College where she obtained her bachelor's degree in Business and
Biology. She obtained her master's degree in International Business in
1998 from Point Park College where she graduated summa cum laude. Ms.
Brennan attained her law degree from The Thomas M. Cooley Law School in
1994 where she graduated cum laude and was a published member of the law
review. She also served as an editor of the Michigan Opinion Notes
column in the statewide Michigan Bar Journal.
Ms. Brennan has extensive experience in all aspects of medical
malpractice defense litigation. She began her career at O'Brien & Ryan,
LLP where she concentrated in mass tort and complex medical malpractice
defense litigation. She served as defense liaison counsel in several
consolidated mass torts including the statewide silicone breast implant
litigation and the Philadelphia Coordinated Rezulin litigation. She
served as associate counsel in the first breast implant case tried in
Pennsylvania in which a defense verdict was obtained. She prepared an
extensive and winning Frye motion effectively precluding from the breast
implant litigation the scientific evidence purporting to link breast
implants to systemic disease. Ms. Brennan also played a central role in
the representation of Class 5 Physicians in the Dow Corning Bankruptcy
Reorganization.
Ms. Brennan also has extensive experience in legal, insurance broker and
accounting malpractice defense litigation. She has defended numerous
lawyers in cases involving underlying issues in many areas of practice
including contracts, estates and probate, commercial, real estate,
medical malpractice, tax, zoning, and others. She also has experience in
corporate insurance coverage matters.
Ms. Brennan is a member of the American, Montgomery, and
Philadelphia County Bar Associations. She is admitted to practice in
Pennsylvania and Arizona. She is also admitted to practice in the United
States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the
United States District Court for the Northern District of Michigan and
the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Ms. Brennan serves as a volunteer attorney for the Montgomery
Child Advocacy Project where she represents, on a pro bono basis, abused
and neglected children.
