Paul Troy Defends Greyhound Lines, Inc.

Paul Troy successfully defended a bus company and its driver in a death trial in Philadelphia in February, 2010.  The suit arose out of a collision where a bicycle and bicycle rider were crushed under the right rear tires of a Greyhound bus.

There was a dispute whether the incident occurred in a bike lane, or on a sidewalk next to the bike lane as the bus was turning into a garage.  There was also a claim for emotional distress and physical injuries by the decedent’s girlfriend, who witnessed the event.  After twelve days of trial, a Philadelphia jury unanimously found no negligence on the part of the bus company or its driver, and returned a defense verdict.
