Troy Successfully Defends Attorney in Philadelphia Legal Malpractice Case

In June, 2010 Paul Troy successfully defended an attorney in a legal malpractice action before a Philadelphia County jury. The case arose out of the attorney’s representation in bankruptcy litigation, and the Complaint alleged that the attorney negligently made a “handshake agreement” with a debtor’s attorney, and later breached that agreement. In a suit by the debtor against the attorney’s former client in Federal Court, the debtor had recovered just over $2,000,000. After a five day trial a Philadelphia jury unanimously held that the attorney was not negligent, and returned a verdict in the attorney’s favor.
