Important Trials

Paul Troy recently defended an attorney and the attorney’s law firm in a legal malpractice trial in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

The case involved an allegation that the attorney had failed to properly advise his client with regard to a series of real estate and business transactions. The plaintiff was a grandmother who had sold the properties to her step granddaughter, and the step granddaughter then sold the properties at a profit several years later. A different law firm defendant and an accountant defendant entered into joint tortfeasor settlements prior to trial, leaving Paul Troy’s clients as the only defendants. The Federal jury returned a defense verdict finding that the defendants were not negligent.
